See The Light - a new video hadiograph from the Hokkaido skies.
Compositions
These works are graphic musical scores produced from my investigations of writing systems and their rhythm, repetition, and intensity. As I created these, I heard the patterns and textures of music. The work wove back and forth in front of me, from notation to graphics, and from work that could be read to work that could be seen, weaving back and forth across a dividing line which itself seemed to be very arbitrary.
Hokkaido Hadiographs
These hadiographs are from my most recent work. I combine gelatin silver photography, extensive darkroom manipulation, paper folding and graphite to construct them. These Hokkaido hadiographs are based on my aerial photography of Hokkaido Japan.
Seen Worlds Portfolio
These are from the Seen Worlds collection. They are black and white silver gelatin prints, printed using traditional darkroom techniques. The photographs were taken mostly in New York City.
These are earlier works. The photographs were taken between 2007 and 2010, when I first came to America. I loved it. Everywhere I went, I saw America. Even when I traveled in other countries, I saw it. Most are taken in the Washington D.C. and New York City area. I made the photographs as 15 inch by 22 inch platinum prints.
